9 things God has done for us
When my faith needs to be increased or when I need comforting in any way, I start reading the book of Ephesians. It is a book in the Bible that I read more often than others. Probably because it reminds me that I was:
- Chosen by the Father
- Redeemed by the Son
- Sealed by the Spirit
I get to reading and meditating on the nine things God has done for us in Ephesians 1:3-14 and before I know it, I have preached myself happy and all is well. What a great reminder – knowing that my Father has left a rich inheritance and I can reflect on it daily to keep it before me.
When was the last time you read yours?

Enemies of Submission
Everyone has enemies whether they admit it or not. But everyone doesn’t think about the enemies that are in place to rob us from being excellent, loving, or submissive. In my study today, I thought about how my local Pastors in New Jersey help me to see these silent daggers that appeared in my life early before my ministerial training so that when it was time for me to answer the call I would be in a position to be fit for the Master’s use.
Submission is an attitude. Obedience is an action.
The Word of God commands the believer in James 4:7 to “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
When we willing, cheerfully, and obediently submit to God, His Word, His Way, His Will, His Authority, then there is no room for the enemy to show His ugly head in our lives. Shut the door on Him and do not sign any packages he may try to serve you!

Morning Devotion - Five Sermons or Teaching Pillars in Matthew
Have you ever picked up your bible and didn’t know where to go?
Well today is my day! I feel like studying something a little different. In my search through the scriptures, I came to the Book of Matthew and reflected back on a time when I was in Bible School how we learn the following:
- The best students of the Bible should know that Matthew contains these five major sections of teachings. Also, they should be able to summarize some of the teachings in each of these five places. These five places are like five pillars that help hold up the book of Matthew.
Note – How the Holy Spirit guided Matthew to plan his writing.
- Matthew used the five pillars of teaching to help organize his Gospel.
- The first pillar of teaching is Matthew 5-7. He uses this as a smooth way to move from the private life of Jesus (Matt. 1-4) to His public ministry.
- The second pillar of teaching is Matthew 10. This speaks directly to the twelve apostles. In the discourse Jesus advises them how to travel from city to city, carry no belongings and to preach only to House of Israel. He tells them to be cautions of opposition, but have no fear for they will be told what to say to defend themselves when needed: "For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father that speaketh in you", as also stated in Luke 12:12.
- The third pillar in chapter 13. It includes seven parables. Just past this third pillar, we find Jesus ministering in Galilee. The conflict between Jesus and Jewish leaders continues to rise (Matt. 14-17).
- The fourth pillar of teaching is Matthew 18. It marks the time that he turned from Galilee and started toward Judea. The theme of this pillar is the anticipation of a future community of followers, and the role of His apostles in leading it.
- Finally, the fifth pillar of teaching is Matthew 24-25. The final pillar is usually called the Olivet Discourse because it was given on the Mount of Olives, and is also referred to as the Discourse on the End Times
- This teaching is mostly about judgment and the expected conduct of the followers of Jesus, and the need for vigilance by the followers in view of the coming judgment.
